Use the current maintenance instructions and illustrated parts data to establish configuration, access, hardware and tooling.
- 1.1 Task dataConfirm removal or installation sequence, component weight, centre of gravity, clearances and required inspections.
- 1.2 EquipmentUse approved jigs, cradles, slings, spreader bars, hoists, jacks and adapters with adequate capacity.
2Control the interfaces
Support and align the assembly so attachment points meet naturally without forcing or transferring unintended loads.
- 2.1 StructureInspect mounting areas, fittings and hardware; protect finished surfaces and approved load paths.
- 2.2 SystemsIdentify, protect and verify the routing of controls, wiring, hoses and tubing before closing the interface.
3Complete and verify
Finish the aircraft-specific rigging, torque, locking, safetying and operational checks before release.
- 3.1 Hardware securityUse the specified fastener, installation direction, torque method and safetying device.
- 3.2 Post-installation checksComplete alignment, clearance, freedom-of-movement, leak, function and independent inspections as required.
