1Inspect the complete dent
Measure depth and area, identify sharp creases and inspect adjacent fasteners, joints and supporting structure.
2Check for cracking
Use the inspection method stated in approved data before forming, filling or returning the area to service.
3Re-form only when permitted
Material, temper, thickness and construction determine whether controlled re-forming is allowed and which method applies.
4Fill only for an approved purpose
Approved adhesive or fairing compound may restore aerodynamic contour but does not replace required structural repair.
