SRM USE
SRM Navigation and Revision Control
A general method for navigating structural repair data and confirming revision status.
Key reference points
- Confirm aircraft effectivity, location and construction.
- Find allowable damage before selecting a repair.
- Verify revision status and preserve required records.
Organised training notes
1Identify the applicable data
Confirm aircraft model, effectivity, structural chapter, section, subject and exact damage location before using a limit or repair.
- 1.1 Reference systemUse the aircraft-defined station, buttock-line, water-line, wing-station and component references.
- 1.2 Material and constructionConfirm material, temper, thickness, laminate or sandwich construction and nearby structural features.
2Follow the data path
Locate the applicable damage definition and allowable limits before selecting a repair or replacement path.
- 2.1 Allowable damageUse the conditions, inspection requirements and proximity rules stated for that exact location.
- 2.2 Repair or replacementIf damage is outside published limits or not covered, use the approved engineering route rather than adapting another repair.
3Confirm revision and records
Verify that the manual revision, temporary revisions, referenced processes and effectivity are current before work starts.
- 3.1 Revision statusCheck the list of effective pages or equivalent revision service and any active temporary revision.
- 3.2 Task recordRetain the required repair category, inspections, life limits and traceability in the maintenance record.
Training-reference boundary
This summary is not approved repair or maintenance data. Do not inspect, classify, select material, alter structure or perform a repair from this page alone. Use the current applicable SRM, AMM, engineering order, drawing and company procedures.
